Abstract
The behaviors that occur in Indonesian society, especially in consumption behavior differ from one individual to another, this is because a person's behavior can be influenced by their external and internal factors, these factors influence individuals to carry out the consumption actions they take , which action will become their way of thinking in carrying out their economic aspects in consuming the goods and services they need everyday. The purpose of this study is to determine consumption behavior, especially among students. This research method is a type of quantitative research. The results of research that has been carried out at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic University of North Sumatra, obtained the following results: (1) Foreign culture partially has a significant effect on consumption behavior of students of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business, UIN North Sumatra, (2) Socio-economic status parents partially significantly influence the consumption behavior of students of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business, UIN North Sumatra. (3) Partially, Islamic economic literacy does not significantly influence the consumption behavior of students of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN North Sumatra. (4) Foreign culture, parents' socio-economic status and Islamic economic literacy simultaneously have a significant effect on the consumption behavior of students of the Islamic Economics and Business Faculty of UIN North Sumatra. the effect is 84.9% and the remaining 14.1% is influenced by other factors.
